For the first time this season, Chalmette will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Northshore Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Chalmette's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Northshore's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Chalmette proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Archbishop Hannan 3-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Owls, who have now won three games in a row.
Steve Roberts looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Caden White was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Francisco Costine was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Northshore came out on top against Salmen on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fourth inning. The Panthers blew past the Spartans 15-0. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.
Peyton Ainsworth looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Smith, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aviel Johnson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Chalmette's record is now 13-8. As for Northshore, their record now sits at 16-9.
Chalmette couldn't quite finish off Northshore in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 and fell 2-0. Can the Owls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
