Westwood is a perfect 10-0 against Ashland since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clockers at 4:15 p.m. Westwood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Ashland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Westwood will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Medfield, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wolverines never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Wolverines have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Medfield's batters probably weren't too happy with Bridget Mulkeen, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up two walks). Mulkeen has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Meanwhile, Ashland can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Millis by a score of 6-2.
Neko Ustaris made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and only one walk). Ustaris was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ruby Khazadian, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Westwood has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Ashland, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Westwood took their win against Ashland in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 11-2 score. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Clockers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
