After flying high against the Marco Island Academy Rays last Friday, The Bayshore Bruins came back down to earth. Bayshore took a 24-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakewood Ranch. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bayshore in their matchups with Lakewood Ranch: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Bayshore lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Jaden Judge. Despite the final result, he rushed for 275 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Judge's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakewood Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Simon Freed, who rushed for 151 yards while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Lakewood Ranch also got help from Connor Anthony who showed off his sure hands for 118 receiving yards.
Bayshore has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Lakewood Ranch, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Bayshore will be playing in front of their home fans against Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Mooney presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bayshore in Florida (Cardinal Mooney is ranked 151st, while Bayshore is ranked 390th). As for Lakewood Ranch, they will head out on the road to face off against Booker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Booker will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
