Forest Park are packing up and hiking across state lines for their match on Friday. They take on Phillips at 6:00 PM. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Forest Park have to be feeling especially confident with the MaxPreps state rankings on their side for this one.
Forest Park faced Stephenson in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Forest Park walked away with a 48-40 victory over Stephenson. No one put up better numbers for Forest Park than junior Tommy Peltoma, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 186 yards on the ground and threw 2 TDs. In fact, with 10 tackles Peltoma was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout to Florence in their previous contest, Phillips were happy to find some success last Friday. Phillips blew past McDonell Central 49-22. The win was a breath of fresh air for Phillips as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Their wins bumped Phillips to 2-3 and Forest Park to 2-2. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Phillips and Forest Park will really light up the scoreboard.
