Millard South hasn't had much luck against Millard North recently, but that could start to change on Monday. It'll be Northside v. Southside when the Millard South Patriots and the Millard North Mustangs meet at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Millard South's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
Millard South was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lincoln High on Saturday. Millard South breezed past Lincoln High to the tune of 80-53. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Links are ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Millard South got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Koby Meyers out in front who posted 11 points along with eight boards and five assists. Meyers has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Margheim, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Millard South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Millard North over Benson in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Millard North blew Benson out of the water with an 81-36 final score. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.
Millard South better keep an eye on Derek Rollins. He was instrumental in Millard North's win, dropping a double-double with 26 points and ten boards. They are 14-2 when Rollins posts ten or more rebounds, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Deacon Courtney, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.
Millard South has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points over those games. Millard North's record now sits at 17-6.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's match: Millard South has made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having averaged 8.5 threes per game. However, it's not like Millard North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 three-pointers. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Millard South lost to Millard North on the road by a decisive 65-49 margin in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rollins, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Now that Millard South knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
