Huron recap Oct. 23, 2012
Milan extended the longest winning streak in Huron this week by beating Lincoln, 36-14. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Riverview moved up to 329 from 383 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Pirates climbed the ranks as a result of beating Consortium College Prep 34-20.
Andrew Mitroka put up the best numbers through the air as Grosse Ile bested Ford. He finished with two completions for 14 yards and one touchdown. Mitroka's favorite target this week was Danny McCarty, who caught two passes for 14 yards.
Marcus Samuels was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 32 carries, he ran for 374 yards as Riverview topped Crestwood. Teammate Tyler Chase added to the ground attack by rushing for 37 yards.
ROBINSON was the best wideout in Huron this week as the Chiefs defeated the Chargers. ROBINSON tallied one reception for 32 yards. DEMARCUS BUNN helped Huron's passing attack out by catching one ball for 25 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Justin Aceves and Arthur Dukes III Milan has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Aceves leads the league in passing with 849 yards, while Dukes III has rushed for 1473 yards this season. Huron's BUNN leads the league in receiving yards with 376 on 17 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jesse Hoskins' team takes on Airport. At the moment, the Big Reds are in first, while the Jets are in fourth.
Flat Rock took down Willow Run 60-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
