While Rocori's victory against Hutchinson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Tigers on Friday. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Spartans have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Tyler Prom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rocori's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jake Stalboerger, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Stalboerger's first of the season. Caleb Maddox was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

The win was the third in a row for Rocori, bringing their record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hutchinson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Rocori will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Detroit Lakes at 4:00 p.m. The Lakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.38 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hutchinson, they will venture away from home to square off against Delano at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
