This season hasn't been kind to the Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots, who are still winless after their 13th game. They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Odyssey Charter School on Thursday. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy has not had much luck with Odyssey Charter School recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Odyssey Charter School was led to victory by Talyssa Hilaire and Natalia DeJesus-Bruno. Hilaire scored nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while DeJesus-Bruno scored 17 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DeJesus-Bruno has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Mayfield, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-13. As for Odyssey Charter School, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy and St. Edward's will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Odyssey Charter School won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pine at 4:00 p.m. on January 12th. Pine's defense has only allowed 21 points per game this season, so Odyssey Charter School's offense will have their work cut out for them.
