Parker Colonels recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Elgin Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Francis W. Parker and snuck past 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Elgin Academy has posted since December 14, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elgin Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rahul Gowda, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gowda has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Tacher, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Several Colonels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Miles Johnson, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Johnson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Quentin Stauber, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Elgin Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. As for Francis W. Parker, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elgin Academy will challenge Northridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northridge will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Francis W. Parker, they will head out on the road to challenge Latin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Latin will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
