The Onalaska Hilltoppers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sparta 85-45 at home. The result was nothing new for Onalaska, who have now won five matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Sparta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin Rhead, who scored nine points. Rhead also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Gus Tripp, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Onalaska's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for Sparta, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Onalaska will take on Mount Horeb at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sparta, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Aquinas at 7:15 p.m. Aquinas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Sparta likes a good challenge.
