The Carolina M Mustangs lost against the Cristo Rey Research Triangle Bulls back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Carolina M lost to the Bulls at home by a decisive 57-43 margin.
When it comes to explaining why Carolina M lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jahmari Smith. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Marshall, who scored two points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Cristo Rey Research Triangle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamaal Miller, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 16 rebounds. Miller is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. Zion Dix was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Carolina M's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Carolina M will head out on the road to square off against the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, they will be playing at home against the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bulls in North Carolina (the Patriots are ranked 263rd, while the Bulls are ranked 566th).
