Jordan Christian Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but William Reyes-Montanez led the charge by scoring 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reyes-Montanez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Osasjoshua, who scored 22 points.
Meanwhile, Downey Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They secured a 83-78 W over Varsity Opponent.
Maylon Marte was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds. Patrick Olajuwon was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds.
Jordan Christian Prep has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Downey Christian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Jordan Christian Prep hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 64.9 points per game. It's a different story for Downey Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 59.9 points per game.
