Enterprise and Beaver are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Wolves will take on the Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Enterprise comes in on four and Beaver on seven.
Enterprise is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gunnison Valley, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since March 28th.
Parker Staheli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kyler Randall, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Eric Phelps was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Beaver made easy work of Milford on Saturday and carried off an 11-1 victory. Considering the Beavers have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Raider Blomquist was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Blomquist was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, Gabe Robinson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davis Carter, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Beaver kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
Enterprise's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Beaver, their victory bumped their record up to 21-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Enterprise has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Beaver struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Enterprise came up short against Beaver when the teams last played back in April, falling 5-2. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
