The Lincolnton Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the West Caldwell Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Lincolnton and nine for West Caldwell.
Last Tuesday, Lincolnton had to suffer through a rough 77-20 loss at the hands of East Burke. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lincolnton in their matchups with East Burke: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, West Caldwell came up short against West Lincoln on Tuesday and fell 31-23.
Lincolnton has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for West Caldwell, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
Lincolnton was able to grind out a solid victory over West Caldwell when the teams last played back in January, winning 50-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincolnton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
