Five-star shooting guard
Alijah Arenas of
Chatsworth (Calif.) committed to USC on Thursday during an episode of his father's podcast, picking the Trojans over Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky and Louisville.
Arenas is rated the No. 10 player and the No. 1 shooting guard in the Class of 2025 according to
247Sports. On Monday he was named a McDonald's All American.
The son of three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas is averaging 31.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game for 13-7 Chatsworth this season. In a six-game span between Dec. 23 and Jan. 4, Arenas averaged 41.2 points per game.

Chatsworth is No. 2 in the Los Angeles City Section rankings.
Arenas reclassified earlier this season from the Class of 2026 after leading the Chancellors to the Division IV state championship game in the spring.
In three years at Chatsworth, Arenas has piled up nearly 2,500 points with over 600 rebounds and 200 assists.
Arenas will play for Eric Musselman at USC. During the 2002-03 NBA season, Musselman was Gilbert's head coach with the Golden State Warriors.
