The Johnson Warriors will take on the Argonaut Mustangs in a tournament on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Johnson's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Armijo with a sharp 32-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won four contests in a row.

Anissa Zavala made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Leticia Gonzales was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Clarissa Aceves-Fonseca, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Johnson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 12.2.
Meanwhile, Argonaut gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Rosemont 15-7. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Woverines: they've now won three in a row.
Kendall Baker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Argonaut got a massive performance out of Bri Bowers, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. AJ Schultz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Johnson's record now sits at 6-7. As for Argonaut, their record is now 10-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Johnson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Argonaut struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
