It was a good run, but the MacArthur Highlanders unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They suffered a rough 50-30 defeat at the hands of Norman. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as MacArthur came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Norman is ranked 140th).
Keeley Parks continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Norman, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was Parks' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Destinee Deer, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Norman, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
MacArthur will head out on the road to face off against Noble at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norman won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Midwest City at 12:00 p.m. on December 8th. Midwest City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Norman likes a good challenge.
