The St. Michael Catholic Cardinals put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 53-25 victory over Robertsdale. Considering St. Michael Catholic has won six matches by more than 23 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Robertsdale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shaunte Sanders, who scored six points along with ten rebounds. Sanders also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Hannah Johansen was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
St. Michael Catholic pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Robertsdale, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
St. Michael Catholic has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Gulf Shores at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Gulf Shores: 29.4, St. Michael Catholic: 29) so any points scored will be well earned. Robertsdale will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Bayside Academy at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th.
