Football Recap: Drexel/Miami Starts Season with Victory Against Liberal

Drexel/Miami gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They skirted past the Liberal Bulldogs 42-40. Drexel/Miami hasn't had any issues with Liberal recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Despite the loss, Liberal still got an impressive performance from Elam Beaman, who rushed for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 187 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes. Maddox Miller was another key player, rushing for 79 yards and one score.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Drexel/Miami will square off against rival Lockwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Liberal is set to take on their familiar foe Greenfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
