West Wendover has gone 10-0 against Battle Mountain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The West Wendover Wolverines will square off against the Battle Mountain Longhorns at 8:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as West Wendover comes in on nine and Battle Mountain on eight.
Last Saturday, West Wendover humbled Oasis Academy with a 69-37 victory. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Adryan Carlos continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Alvarez, who went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points and five rebounds.
West Wendover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, Battle Mountain didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Yerington on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory.
Battle Mountain found their leader in sophomore Geovanni Ruvalcaba, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. What's more, Ruvalcaba also racked up six steals, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Adan Nevarez was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
West Wendover is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Battle Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: West Wendover has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28 boards per game. However, it's not like Battle Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
West Wendover was able to grind out a solid victory over Battle Mountain in their previous meeting on January 2nd, winning 69-59. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Ruvalcaba, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points and three steals.
