Grand River recap October 8, 2013
Maysville scaled the state rankings by moving to 198 from 235 this week, the biggest jump in Grand River. The Wolverines were able to move up by defeating Polo 26-22.
South Harrison extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Braymer, 44-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.
Dylan Heitz threw for 287 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 16-20 with 0 interceptions.
Tyler O'Neal was the best receiver in the league this week as South Harrison defeated the Bobcats. O'Neal tallied 4 receptions for 106 yards. Corby Clark helped South Harrison's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 90 yards.
Caleb Obert's team's Heitz and O'Neal have formed a dream team this season, leading Grand River in both passing and receiving yards. Heitz has thrown for 1,456 yards this season, while O'Neal has 23 catches for 576 yards. Drew Cottrill from Albany leads the league in rushing with 790 yards.
The Warriors are currently in fourth, while the Bulldogs are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Albany takes on South Harrison. Alan Gottula's team has allowed 104 points this season, while the Bulldogs have given up 80. The Warriors allowed 14 points last week as they topped Princeton.
South Harrison took down Braymer 44-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Heitz in the win.
