The Siegel Stars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rockvale. While losing is never fun, Siegel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the are ranked 87th).
Rockvale found their leader in underclassman Jade Watson, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Maritza Wright, who scored ten points.
Siegel has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Rockvale, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Siegel will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Juliet is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Rockvale, they and the Blaze will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Blackman will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
