After flying high against Quakertown Christian last Thursday, the Jenkintown Drakes came back down to earth. Jenkintown fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 54-52. Jenkintown has not had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Drakes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Desmond Trail, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Trail is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Matty Ecker was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jameer Zachary, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zachary has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Sheppard, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Jenkintown's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-4.
Jenkintown and the Knights will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Delaware County Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches. As for Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Cougar at 3:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Collegium Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Falcons are ranked 247th).
