Salesian College Preparatory is 8-2 against St. Patrick-St. Vincent since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Pride will take on the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Salesian College Preparatory has eight straight victories, St. Patrick-St. Vincent has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Salesian College Preparatory's win against Saint Mary's wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pride had just enough and edged out the Panthers 10-9 on Wednesday.

DeAmor Coleman was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Gloria Alcaire and Matea Gaddies did most of the damage at the plate: Alcaire went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Gaddies went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave Gaddies a new career-high. Cristina Martinez-Adalco also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Salesian College Preparatory kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick-St. Vincent lost 19-1 to Pinole Valley on Wednesday.
Salesian College Preparatory pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Salesian College Preparatory has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. It's a different story for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Salesian College Preparatory's sizable advantage in that area, the Bruins will need to find a way to close that gap.
Salesian College Preparatory took their victory against St. Patrick-St. Vincent in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 17-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pride since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
