This season hasn't been kind to The Mehlville Panthers, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They were dealt a 39-7 defeat at the hands of Northwest on Friday. Mehlville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northwest apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Mehlville's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-8 Northwest and 1-7 McCluer (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 24.7% over those games). As for Northwest, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mehlville will face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakville and Northwest are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
