Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Tunica Academy Blue Devils, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by Christian Collegiate Academy 50-22 on Friday.
Christian Collegiate Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DJ Biggs led the charge by rushing for 167 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Biggs hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for seven straight games. David Welter got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Tunica Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Christian Collegiate Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Tunica Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Christian Collegiate Academy will take on Newton County Academy at TBD on Friday. Newton County Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
