Kallie Thornton was dynamite on Tuesday, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her third in a row with more than ten strikeouts. On the year, she has an ERA of 1.45 over 77.3 innings pitched.

Looking ahead, Thornton and Melbourne will venture away from home to face off against Salem at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Sadly, Thornton's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Bearkatz's six-game streak of wins on the road.
