Delavan has struggled against El Paso-Gridley recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Delavan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Hansen, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Brockhouse, who scored 16 points.
Delavan's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for El Paso-Gridley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delavan will take on Peoria Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Paso-Gridley, they will head out on the road to face off against Flanagan-Cornell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Flanagan-Cornell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than El Paso-Gridley in Illinois (Flanagan-Cornell is ranked 82nd, while El Paso-Gridley is ranked 371st).
