The Leadership Public Schools Richmond Pumas's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 62-34 defeat at the hands of Bay Tech. Leadership Public Schools Richmond was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.
Despite the loss, Leadership Public Schools Richmond still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Challenger, who scored 12 points.
Bay Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rashawn Richard led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Richard is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Cummings, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and seven blocks.
Leadership Public Schools Richmond's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Bay Tech, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Leadership Public Schools Richmond's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Bay Tech is on the road again on Friday and plays the Golden Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
