Bucksport came out on top against Sumner on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Golden Bucks walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Bucks sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Trent Goss was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Goss was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Nick Clair and Bo Provencher did most of the damage at the plate: Clair went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Provencher got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Bucksport is undefeated when Provencher posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Eli Bennett also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
