Lakeside School (Eufaula) captured the Alabama Independent Schools Association Class A championship this year and in doing so led the nation with 504 runs.
Coached by Tony Rasmus, one of the winningest coaches in Alabama history, the Chiefs had the highest win total in the nation this year with 53 victories (three by forfeit) and just six losses. Rasmus, who won a state championship in 2005 with a
Russell County (Seale) team that was also ranked No. 1 in the nation, has 648 wins in his 25-year coaching career.
Statistically, the Chiefs spread the wealth as eight players had 40 or more runs scored.
Conner Britton led the way with 63 runs while
Tyler Mark Bullock had 62.
Lakeside School headlines the list of the top 25 schools with the most runs scored during the 2025 season. Most of the schools hail from the Deep South and Southwest as they tend to play over 40 games during the season.
The top 25 teams are listed with their overall record, average runs scored per game, differential between runs scored and runs allowed, number of games with 10 or more runs, number of games with 20 or more runs and the highest single-game scoring total. Ties for overall runs scored were broken based on average runs per game.
Run totals are based on scores reported to MaxPreps.
