The Riesel Indians lost against the Centerville Tigers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Riesel was beaten by Centerville 70-40.
Leading Centerville to victory were Wade Neyland and Trayce Schwab. Neyland scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Schwab went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 4 assists. The matchup was Neyland's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Waters, who scored six points along with five assists.
Riesel's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Centerville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Riesel will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wortham at 1:00 p.m. on December 29th. As for Centerville, they will head out on the road to face off against Groesbeck at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Groesbeck is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
