AAA District 9 recap October 29, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hendersonville, who defeated 48th ranked Beech, 42-14.
Station Camp added to the longest winning streak in AAA District 9 this week by beating Portland, 42-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Bison.
The Buccaneers' dynamic duo of Parker Henry and Ian Hafner proved to be unstoppable against the Commandos, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Henry threw for 115 yards and 1 touchdown and Hafner had 90 yards receiving. Dylan Jett helped Beech's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 11 yards.
Claly Carnes was a passing and rushing force as Gallatin bested Mount Juliet. He completed 6 passes for 70 yards and also ran for 57 yards. Carnes' key target this week was Cory Coggins, who caught 3 passes for 38 yards.
Jalen Rogan made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Green Wave beat the Golden Bears. The 6-foot-3 junior recorded 1 fumble.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Gallatin's Carnes and Dedarius Redding have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Carnes has thrown for 1,367 yards this season, while Redding has 29 catches for 429 yards. Dorian Carter from Beech leads the league in rushing with 1,343 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Station Camp takes on second place Hendersonville.
Wilson Central took down Lebanon 43-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
