Volleyball Recap: Woodlan's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Woodlan had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the DeKalb Barons with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. The Warriors not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 19th (when they won 3-0).

While Woodlan won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-10, 25-23.

Woodlan found their leader in sophomore Nathan Culler, who had 16 assists.

Woodlan's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for DeKalb, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 16 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-23 record this season.

Woodlan and DeKalb are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, the Warriors and Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for DeKalb, they will square off against Leo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
