McFarland has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Delano Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McFarland has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 359 points over their last five contests.
McFarland put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kennedy 81-52 on the road. Given McFarland's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 1124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Delano came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 71-34 victory over Wasco.
Delano had a senior duo take command as Ibrahim Shuwait scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals and Juan Lopez scored seven points along with five assists and five rebounds. Lopez hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Rg Garcia was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
McFarland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Delano, they pushed their record up to 19-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
McFarland didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Tigers in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory. Does McFarland have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
