5A Front Range recap October 8, 2013
Horizon moved up to 57 from 83 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Front Range. The Hawks were able to move up by besting Poudre 34-13.
Rocky Mountain took down Fossil Ridge 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. JOSHUA RHEAD ran for 177 yards and caught 1 pass for 51 yards in the win.
Jordan Iacovetta provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Horizon beat the Impalas.
Iacovetta was a beast in the backfield as Frank Ybarra's team bested Poudre.
Kyle Dunbabin was the best receiver in the league this week as Mountain Range defeated Fort Collins. Dunbabin racked up 3 receptions for 76 yards. Jacob McCort helped Mountain Range's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 31 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Cody Limmer of Dan Reardon's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 958. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nick Kravec. The Fossil Ridge star has 25 catches for 349 yards.
As it stands, the Hawks are in third, while the Lobos are in second.
Horizon made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,982 from 5,435. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 34-13 victory over the Impalas last week.
