The Kennard-Dale Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Middletown Blue Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kennard-Dale barely beat Octorara Area the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Braves on Thursday. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Taryn Ashenfelter was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Argiro, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hailey Serruto, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Kennard-Dale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Middletown entered their tilt with Palmyra on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 21-0 shutout. That looming 21-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blue Raiders yet this season.
Like Kennard-Dale, Middletown also got a great game from a two-way player: Kenadee Hileman. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Hileman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Journee Stover was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Meghan O'Brien was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Kennard-Dale pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Middletown, their record now sits at 6-2.
