Santa Fe is 2-8 against Manvel since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Santa Fe Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Manvel Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. Santa Fe is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Santa Fe came up short against Texas City and fell 55-46. Santa Fe has not had much luck with Texas City recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Santa Fe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kenny Torres, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds, and Ryland Chambless who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Jewell, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Santa Fe struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are 1-3 when they can't control their own glass like that.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Manvel's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 63-48 fall against Friendswood.
Santa Fe has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-20 record this season. Manvel's record now sits at 15-17.
Santa Fe was able to grind out a solid win over Manvel when the teams last played back in January, winning 67-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santa Fe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
