The El Camino Eagles will take on the Pleasant Grove Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, El Camino was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-55 to River City. El Camino has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Demetrious Perry, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isaac Bennett, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove came up short against Whitney on Tuesday and fell 66-58.
Pleasant Grove's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carson Keplinger, who scored 20 points along with 5 steals, and Lionel Williamson who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Sykes, who scored 13 points along with 6 assists.
Vacaville's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while El Camino's defeat dropped theirs to 0-1.
