Noslen Sanchez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Cristian Sanchez looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Daniel Rivaflecha and Brandon Santiso did most of the damage at the plate: Rivaflecha scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5, while Santiso scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Rivaflecha has posted since back in February. Aaron Blanco also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
JC Bermudez Doral was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .595. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Westminster Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past South Plantation 5-4.
Westminster Academy got a big performance out of Jayden Garcia, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Garcia has become a key player for Westminster Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ryan Dejnak, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.
JC Bermudez Doral's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Westminster Academy, their record now sits at 8-6.
JC Bermudez Doral suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Westminster Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can JC Bermudez Doral avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
