The Lake Braddock Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the West Potomac Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lake Braddock's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so West Potomac's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Friday, Lake Braddock made easy work of Alexandria City and carried off a 12-3 win. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Mac Verdejo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hailey Hackbarth, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Addison Forde was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Lake Braddock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alexandria City only posted a batting average of .214.
Meanwhile, West Potomac didn't have quite enough to beat Fairfax on Friday and fell 2-1. The match marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
West Potomac saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jillian Lafayette, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
The victory made it two in a row for Lake Braddock and bumps their season record up to 12-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for West Potomac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.
West Potomac's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lake Braddock has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for West Potomac, though, as they've been averaging 13 hits. Given Lake Braddock's sizable advantage in that area, the Wolverines will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lake Braddock was able to grind out a solid victory over West Potomac in their previous meeting back in April, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
