Even though the Foran Lions scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Mercy Tigers still came out on top. Mercy came out on top in a nail-biter against Foran and snuck past 58-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mercy.
When it comes to explaining why Foran lost, one person who can't be blamed is Faith Doyle. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Deldin, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Mercy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Foran, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercy will be home for the holidays to greet Lauralton Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lauralton Hall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Mercy is ranked 18th). Foran will be home for the holidays to greet Cheshire at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
