The Blount Leopards won against the Hillcrest Jaguars last Thursday with 55 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Blount simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hillcrest 55-27 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Blount sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Donniya Torrey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Heaven Watlington, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Blount's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Hillcrest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.
Blount on the road again on Monday and play against Saraland at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Saraland is ranked 148th, while Blount is ranked 124th). As for Hillcrest, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Thomasville is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
