It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Woodlawn Cardinals ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They slipped by Carmi-White County 38-37. The win made it back-to-back wins for Woodlawn.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodlawn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jase Burkett, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds. Burkett has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Kibler, who scored five points.
Woodlawn has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Carmi-White County, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-5.
