The Twin Lakes Indians will take on the Delphi Community Oracles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Twin Lakes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Twin Lakes took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over Benton Central. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Maddy Hook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Quinn Gilford and Miya Clerget did most of the damage at the plate: Gilford went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Clerget went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Gilford a new career-high. Taylor Oliver was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Twin Lakes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Delphi Community's offense. They came up short against Rossville on Thursday, falling 12-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Oracles in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost five in a row.
Delphi Community now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Twin Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
Delphi Community's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Twin Lakes has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Delphi Community, though, as they've been averaging 9.9 hits. Given Twin Lakes' sizable advantage in that area, the Oracles will need to find a way to close that gap.
