The Mustangs locked up their fourth consecutive Metro League championship and gained the No. 4 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section D-I bracket, having reached the D-I finals in 2019 and the D-II finals in 2020.

The Patriots won the Southwest Yosemite League and as the top seed in the Central Section D-I playoffs, they stand as the section's overall best team.

The Raiders capped a brutal regular season that included the program's most ambitious and difficult schedule to win the Valley Oak League outright. The No. 5 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section D-I playoffs moved up in division after winning the D-II section title in 2021.

The Buffaloes earned the top seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section D-II playoffs after placing second to Central Catholic in the Valley Oak League. That was a 56-49 loss to CC for Manteca's lone loss.

The Knights capped the first 10-0 regular season for a Modesto public school since 1973, according to Ron Agostini, the superb decades-long reporter for The Modesto Bee and now for FrontRowPreps. Downey is the No. 3 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section D-II playoffs.

The Cougars rolled behind 264 yards and three touchdown passes from
