The Palmyra Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 79-24 loss at the hands of Auburn. Palmyra has not had much luck with Auburn recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Palmyra still got an impressive performance from Drew Erhart, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Palmyra struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Palmyra's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Auburn, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmyra will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Elmwood-Murdock at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st. As for Auburn, they will take on Mead at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mead will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Auburn is ranked ninth).
