Wise has gone 8-2 against High Point recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pumas will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Wise's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
Wise took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Bladensburg 21-11. The Pumas haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Christian Moore made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Wise: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Daron Williams was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Reed, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.
Wise was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, High Point hadn't done well against Eleanor Roosevelt recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Raiders 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since May 2, 2025.
Jadiel Soto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Soto was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
Wise's record now sits at 3-4. As for High Point, their record is now 5-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Wise has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .543. However, it's not like High Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .533. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wise suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to High Point in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Pumas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
