The Greeneview Rams will take on the Cedarville Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Greeneview is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Thursday, Greeneview made easy work of Fairbanks and carried off an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Max Penrod and Nick Hassid were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Penrod tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hassid didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Penrod scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Hassid scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Trevor Moore was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Chase Walker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Cedarville didn't have quite enough to beat West Jefferson on Friday and fell 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Roughriders: they've now lost six in a row.
Cedarville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Lide, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Cooper Hardy also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Greeneview pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Cedarville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Cedarville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greeneview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .384. It's a different story for Cedarville, though, as they've only averaged .229. Will they be able to contain Greeneview's hitters?
Greeneview couldn't quite get it done against Cedarville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 11-8. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
