If the Jackson Generals were feeling good off their 44-12 takedown of the Miami Springs Golden Hawks last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Jackson had to suffer through a rough 43-7 loss at the hands of Goleman. Jackson was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
They used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Gabriela Gonzalez,
Kayla Morgan, and
Madeline Acosta posted two points each.
Goleman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Akayla Edwards led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Berman, who scored seven points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Goleman, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Jackson will head out on the road to square off against Miami Beach at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Goleman, they will play host again and welcome Hialeah Gardens, where tip off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hialeah Gardens is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
